🔍 The Problem We Solve

When a middle school student searches YouTube for help with a topic like "Grade 7 Fractions" or "Cell Biology," they're flooded with thousands of results — many of them low quality, off-topic, or aimed at the wrong grade level.

Parents worry about what their children stumble across. Students waste precious study time clicking through irrelevant videos. Teachers can't always recommend specific resources for every topic.

The Brain Bridge fixes this. We do the hard work of finding, evaluating, and ranking the best educational videos for each topic in the middle school curriculum — so students can go straight to learning.

⚙️ How We Find the Best Videos

Our platform uses a quality scoring system to rank videos based on what actually matters for student learning:

1

Curriculum Alignment

We search specifically for videos matching each grade's official curriculum topics — not just keyword matches.

2

Quality Scoring

Each video is scored on channel size, view count, like ratio, and recency — so only top-rated content surfaces.

3

Weekly Refresh

Our content is updated weekly per subject to ensure students always get fresh, relevant, and highly rated videos.

4

Top 10 Only

We surface only the top 10 videos per topic — no endless scrolling, no noise, just the best of the best.

👋 Who We Are

The Brain Bridge was founded by a parent and technology professional who saw firsthand how much time students waste searching for quality learning content online. With a background in building technology systems, we set out to solve this problem properly — with a structured, curated, and reliable platform students can count on.

We are a small, independent team passionate about education and technology. Every decision we make is guided by one question: Does this help students learn better?

We are based in the United States and welcome feedback, suggestions, and questions from students, parents, and educators.

👨‍👩‍👧 For Parents & Teachers

We understand that parents and teachers need to trust a platform before directing students to it. Here is exactly how The Brain Bridge works — no jargon, no marketing language, just a clear explanation of what we do and how we do it.

🔍

How Videos Are Selected

We use the YouTube Data API to find videos that match each topic in our Grade 6–8 curriculum database. Every video is scored using a formula that weights channel subscriber count, total view count, and the ratio of likes to views. Higher scores go to videos from well-established educational channels with large, engaged audiences — not just recently uploaded videos that happen to match a keyword.

🔄

How Often Videos Are Updated

Our Make.com automation refreshes the video rankings on a rolling weekly schedule: Math on Mondays, Science on Tuesdays, English on Wednesdays, and History on Thursdays. This means the Top 10 videos for each topic are re-evaluated every week against new content on YouTube — so stale or lower-quality videos are automatically displaced by better ones over time.

🛡️

Age Appropriateness

Our search queries and curriculum database are scoped specifically to middle school content — Grades 6, 7, and 8. We only surface videos from the YouTube search results for those specific educational topics. We do not scrape or recommend general YouTube content. If you find a video that seems age-inappropriate for any reason, please email us at contact@the-brain-bridge.com and we will remove it promptly.

📊

What Data We Collect

Currently, The Brain Bridge does not require any registration or personal information from students. Students can browse all content anonymously. The only data we collect is anonymous, aggregate usage data via Google Analytics (page views and session duration). No names, no ages, no contact information. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
